How many states can YOU locate??

CAN YOU PASS THE TEST??? I Double Dog Dare YOU!!!
Ho

Statistics reveal YOU most likely will fail!!  How many States CAN YOU locate???
I challenge you to Try this link to a "U.S. States Map Puzzle" and see what you score....Will you pass with American Colors .....or Fail in Shame???
http://jimspages.com/States.htm

Today's Squawk is sadly inspired by the Fact that "One in Five U.S. citizens FAIL to locate North America on a World Map ", never mind the shaming statistics on How many can NOT point out the geographical location of each of our states within a Map of the U.S.!!! At first glance I refused to believe this fact so i further researched and was beyond disappointed in my findings....

For instance, one blog I stumbled upon clearly revealed how Europeans view Americans as generally "Map" illiterates. They simply think the Average American greatly Lacks knowledge in world Geography. Regretfully the Facts and statistics reveal this to be fairly true. One post that caught my immediate attention was from a 13 year old Boy whom was from Scotland and his best friend had recently moved to California. This young boy was shocked that his friend only had 6 major Subjects included in his studies at his new School. The new Californian informs his friend back home in Scotland (whom has an average of 14 Subjects in his studies) that it seems most of his new classmates not only can not locate Each State of the U.S. but have no clue where Scotland is on a Map. This blog post continues to elaborate on how these two Scotland Natives had known every State and it's location by grade 3 and could not understand why Americans do not know much about their own Country.
As I  further researched recent polls and statistics on this subject, I then remembered an email my
father-in-law sent us a while back....it was an online puzzle of the United States of America and the goal was to click and drag each state to it's proper location. I remember having my then 12 year old son and 8 year old daughter attempt this and although they did not score 100% it was close, and I was pleased with what they did know.

This is a GREAT tool/website to challenge and educate your children ! I even DOUBLE DOG DARE you adults/parents to attempt this Task!! Will you PASS or Fail??? http://jimspages.com/States.htm

This is a MUST READ!
According to Roper Public Affairs 2006 Final Report,
"Each of the participants in this survey was shown a map of the continental United States (Map D, next page)  the same map used in the 2002 and 1988 surveys and asked to identify seven states. On average, young Americans can accurately locate about half (3.4) of these states. One in five (20%) get all seven right, and just 3% can"t find any of these states on the map." This lengthily but shocking report reveals some very sad statistics on the lack of general Knowledge of the average "Young American Adult". I urge you to take some time and look at this 2006 report and make sure you do NOT fall into this bracket, AND help prevent your Children from falling into these sad statistics!!!!
